Community Involvement

The communities we serve are our top priorities.

Serving our communities, because that’s what neighbors do.

TBK Bank proudly supports numerous philanthropic and civic organizations within the communities we serve. In addition to financial contributions given to the community, our team members also take pride in giving back through their countless volunteer hours.

As an integral part of the community, we work to understand what our customers face and how we can help. From the greatest moments to the trivial everyday things alike, TBK Bank is there every step of the way. We’re made up of your friends and neighbors. People you know, people you trust, people who value you and the important things in your life.

Examples of volunteerism by our team members include participating in local service organizations and clubs, participating in many festivals and events in our areas, coaching and managing youth sports, and serving on the boards of directors and committees at many area schools, hospitals, community groups, and other organizations.

Our Philanthropic Priorities

TBK Bank has four priorities that guide our philanthropic efforts.

In our efforts to train future leaders, we support many organizations including:

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP FAIR

TBK Bank co-sponsored the first annual E-fair for 5th-12th grade students in La Junta, Colorado. Students are tasked with developing a business plan. At the local fair, TBK Bank members and other local business leaders provide feedback and advice to their plan. TBK Bank is proud to support the youth in our communities and encourage them to dream big for their future!

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

TBK Bank supports Junior Achievement chapters across the country through our team members who volunteer their time to teach financial literacy in classrooms, through various fundraising efforts, and even through hosting a field trip of high school students at our corporate headquarters. We are proud to support an organization like Junior Achievement who is making great strides to train future leaders in career readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

In our efforts to establish viable communities, we support many organizations including:

LIVING WATER INTERNATIONAL

Since 2012, TBK Bank has been sending a team of 12 team members to drill a water well in various communities throughout El Salvador with Living Water International. It’s a wonderful way for our company to come together across our various divisions and make a significant impact by providing clean water and teaching hygiene classes to a community of people. Living Water is making a significant impact by establishing viable communities in El Salvador and throughout the world.

REDEEM

Revitalize and Develop East Moline REDEEM is a private non-profit dedicated to economic development and redevelopment in East Moline, Illinois. This group is committed to attracting businesses that will in turn create and retain jobs, improve the tax base, and maintain a strong working relationship with the city and other organizations. In their work to establish viable communities, REDEEM still maintains their guiding principles of stewardship, community and integrity.

In our efforts to serve the less fortunate, we support many organizations including:

BEHIND EVERY DOOR

Behind Every Door operates in underserved apartment complexes to bring opportunity and cultivate dignity, optimism, inspiration, and hope. Behind Every Door builds relationships with the children, adult, and senior citizen residents, and then collaborates with other strategic partners in order to offer the best care and opportunity in regards to education, safety, housing, employment, physical & emotional health, spiritual health, and community involvement.

TBK Bank gladly provides school supplies each year for the students at the annual Back to School Kickoff Event, in addition to toys and gifts from our team members at Christmastime.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Meals on Wheels exists through a network of more than 5,000 independently-run local programs. Many of our community bank branches have adopted a Meals on Wheels delivery route, taking turns to deliver weekly meals to homebound and mobility-impaired seniors in our communities. These volunteers deliver a warm, healthy meal and stay for a brief visit – oftentimes being the only person that resident will see or speak with that day. We are proud to partner with Meals on Wheels in our communities, proving that a meal can be much more than just food on a plate; a meal is also the company across the table.

In our efforts to give people a second chance, we support many organizations including:

PRISON ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM

Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) is a program that partners the nation’s top executives, entrepreneurs, and MDA students with convicted felons. This re-entry program prevents recidivism and maximizes self-sufficiency by educating incarcerated men on how to develop and create their own business plan. As a result, men that graduate from PEP are transformed and equipped for life after parole. Executive volunteers advise on the inmates business plans, provide mentorship, and judge the Business Plan Competition the day before Graduation. PEP is transforming lives by giving these men a second chance.

INTERFAITH FAMILY SERVICES

TBK Bank has participated in the Adopt-A-Family Program through Interfaith Family Services, a non-profit that provides apartment homes to formerly homeless families. Interfaith works to empower parents to break the cycle of poverty by providing them with stability, helping them to believe in their own self-worth, and teaching them the skills they need to reach self-sufficiency. While living in the apartment, the parent(s) attend classes and meet weekly with success coaches that encourage them and monitor their progress. TBK Bank is proud to support both our family and Interfaith, who is empowering families by giving people a second chance.
