TBK Bank will issue new debit cards on April 10th. You should receive your new card in the mail within 7 to 10 business days from the issue date. More information about the new debit cards is provided below. Why are you replacing my current card?
TBK Bank, SSB has partnered with Mastercard® as our debit card issuer for each of our banking divisions. There is no-cost for you to upgrade to the TBK Bank Debit Card Mastercard.
When will I get my new card?
New cards will be issued April 10th. You should receive your new card within 7 to 10 business days from the issue date. Please contact your local branch if you have not received your new card by April 20th.
Will my card number, PIN and 3-digit code change on the new card?
Yes, you’ll have a new card number, PIN and security code.
When will my old card stop working?
The old card will stop working April 24, 2017.
How can I activate my new card and select my PIN?
Call 1-800-992-3808 to activate your card and select your PIN
Can I keep my old card instead?
No, your current card is being discontinued, so to enjoy uninterrupted services, it’s important to activate and begin using your new TBK Mastercard.
Will I still be able to use my card at any ATM that accepted it before?
Your card will be accepted at ATMs displaying the network logos for Accel, Mastercard®, Cirrus, Maestro and Plus.
Will my daily transaction limits change?
The daily TBK Bank ATM withdrawal limit is $500, the daily TBK Bank Personal Debit Card Mastercard purchase limit is $2,000 and the daily TBK Bank Business Debit Card Mastercard purchase limit is $5,000. Alternate transaction limits are available at request and subject to the Bank's review.
What about recurring payments on my old card?
Just like anytime you get a new card, notify the merchants that charge your card. Give them your card number, expiration date and the 3-digit security code.
How do I set up alerts to track my debit card and account activity?
TBK Bank offers you a wide variety of alert options that deliver important information such as your available balance, when a direct deposit is posted, when a debit card payment over a certain dollar amount occurs and much more. You can set up alerts through online banking.
What should I do if my debit card PIN (Personal Identification Number) isn't working?
Call 1-800-992-3808 to reset your PIN
Are there transaction fees for using my debit card?
TBK Bank doesn't charge transaction fees for using a debit card to make purchases, but some merchants may impose a transaction fee or surcharge. An international transaction fee may be charged for debit card purchases and ATM cash withdrawals.
Do I have to re-register the card for Prewards?
Prewards will no longer be offered on the new TBK Bank Debit Card Mastercard.
- Chip Card FAQs
Why does my new card contain a microchip?
TBK Bank uses chip technology for all debit cards because it provides more security and ease of use in other countries and is expected to become standard in the U.S.
How is a chip card used?
Insert the card into the slot on the bottom-front of the terminal, face up and chip first. Leave your card in the terminal until the transaction is complete. The terminal will prompt you to enter a PIN or sign to complete the transaction. Remove your card when prompted and don't leave it behind.
Where can I use my chip-enabled card?
Since the card has a magnetic stripe and an embedded chip, you can use your card anywhere in the U.S. that accepts Mastercard® cards. A growing number of retailers and ATMs will be accepting chip-enabled card.
How do I pay at a card reader that is not chip-enabled?
Your card will still have a magnetic stripe on the back, so you can still swipe your card at a traditional card reader – just as you would today.
Will I still need to sign for my purchase?
You will be prompted to enter your PIN or sign to complete the transaction.
How does a chip-enabled card work for Internet and telephone transactions?
Your Internet and telephone transactions will work just as they do today.
Are there any additional fees associated with chip cards?
There is no additional cost to have or to use a new card with smart chip technology. However, there are fees that may apply for each requested replacement of a debit card. (The replacement fee does not apply when we replace a card upon its expiration.)
