Aaron P. Graft
Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Graft is the founder, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Triumph Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: TBK). He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of TBK Bank, SSB and is the Chairman of Triumph Business Capital and Triumph Insurance Group. Mr. Graft also serves as a director and as Vice Chairman of The Bank of the West of Thomas, Oklahoma.
Prior to establishing Triumph Bancorp, Inc., Mr. Graft served as the founder and President of Triumph Land and Capital Management, LLC, where he oversaw the management of several multi-family and commercial real estate projects in receivership and led the acquisition of multiple pools of distressed debt secured by multi-family projects. Prior to Triumph, Mr. Graft worked for Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright LLP) where he focused on distressed loan workouts.
Mr. Graft has a long and ongoing involvement with charitable organizations, including serving on the Dallas committee of International Justice Mission. He has also championed Triumph’s participation in four well building trips to El Salvador with Living Water International and made multiple trips to Africa and Haiti.
Mr. Graft received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, and a Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from Baylor University. Mr. Graft is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization and in 2014, he was recognized by the Dallas Business Journal with the “40 Under 40” award. He and his wife Kimberly have three children and reside in Dallas, Texas.
R. Bryce Fowler
President, Chief Financial Officer and Public Information Officer
Mr. Fowler is the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Public Information officer of TBK Bank, SSB. He previously served as member of the board, Chief Executive Officer, President and Public Information Officer under Triumph’s former name, Equity Bank, SSB. He joined Equity Bank, SSB in 2008 to lead the effort to stabilize its financial condition, leading to its sale to Triumph in November 2010. Mr. Fowler’s career includes fifteen years with Bluebonnet Savings Bank, SSB. where also served as director, president and chief financial officer. Bluebonnet Savings Bank, FSB, was a $3+ billion Southwest Plan institution formed from the acquisition of fifteen failed institutions in 1988. He was a member of the executive committee that led Bluebonnet through the acquisition and consolidation of these institutions, implemented and managed the government assistance agreement, expanded its state-wide lending operations to be national in scope, and was one of the principal architects in the development and implementation of Bluebonnet’s transition from a community bank franchise to a wholesale institution focused primarily in MBS investment strategies. Subsequent to the planned liquidation of Bluebonnet, Mr. Fowler was a partner in Cyma Fund Advisors, which managed a $100 million capital investment in an $800 million leveraged mortgage-backed securities portfolio for two years. Mr. Fowler began his career in 1980 in public accounting as an auditor for David, Kinard & Company responsible primarily for financial institution clients, subsequently serving five years for Commodore Savings Association responsible for finance and accounting.
Mr. Fowler received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas – Arlington and is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas (license inactive).
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary
Ms. Lehmann is Vice President and Secretary of Triumph Bancorp, Inc. and Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of TBK Bank, SSB. She previously served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Information Officer and Secretary under Triumph’s former name, Equity Bank, SSB. Prior to that, Ms. Lehmann served as Corporate Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President of risk management for Bluebonnet Savings Bank, FSB, a $3+ billion wholesale thrift. Ms. Lehmann has been in the banking industry for over 35 years, having worked at community banks, an international bank and several multi-bank holding companies ranging in size up to $5.3 billion. She has experience in all facets of banking operations having held positions in virtually all areas of bank operations with particular emphasis on regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, information technology and venture capital environments. Additionally, Ms. Lehmann has extensive experience in the area of property management.
Ms. Lehmann received a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration/Political Science and Criminal Justice, from the University of Illinois.
Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer
Mr. Karas serves as Chief Lending Officer of TBK Bank, SSB. He joined Triumph in 2012 as Executive Vice President – Asset Based Lending for Triumph Commercial Finance with more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of commercial finance. Prior to joining Triumph, Karas served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Marquette Business Credit, where he led Marquette’s general factoring business as well as marketing for its asset based lending platform. Previously he served with GE Capital/Heller Financial as Managing Director of the Corporate Lending Group, then the Enterprise Client Group and finally Energy Financial Services. He began his career with JPMorgan Chase, formerly Chemical Bank, in New York and gained experience in credit, commercial and leveraged lending prior to opening Bank of America’s (formerly NationsBank) New York ABL office.
Mr. Karas is currently a member of the Commercial Finance Association Executive Committee and serves as chairperson of the organization’s Education Committee. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management from Temple University and his Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Chief Credit Officer
Mr. Smith is the Chief Credit Officer of TBK Bank, SSB and oversees credit underwriting, loan approval, credit monitoring, credit policy development and implementation, and other functions. Prior to joining Triumph, Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President at Texas Capital Bank, N.A., as a member of the Private Wealth Advisors team. Before that Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer at NexBank, SSB and led a credit analyst team at CSG Investments, Inc., an affiliate of Beal Bank.
Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science in accounting from Texas A&M University. Additionally, he earned his MBA from Duke University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Executive Vice President, Controller
Ms. Pittman serves as the Executive Vice President, Controller of TBK Bank, SSB since 2012. She previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officers under Triumph’s former name, Equity Bank, SSB. In her current role, Ms. Pittman manages the divisional reporting, consolidated financial and call reporting functions and accounting for mergers and acquisitions for the bank and its subsidiaries with consolidated assets of $383 million. She also manages the regulatory, tax and financial reporting of three bank holding companies with consolidated assets of $1.3 million. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Treasury for Lanelogic, Inc. (Caroffer), where she was responsible for the management of the companies accounting, finance and cash management functions, as well as human resources. Ms. Pittman also served as Controller for Cyma Fund Advisors, an investment fund with $100 million of capital under management with a $1.3 billion leverage investment portfolio. Her banking experience also includes 15 years with Bluebonnet Savings, FSB ($3.2 billion in assets), where her responsibilities included management of the accounting and back office operations in support of investment portfolio, funding and hedging activities. She has direct experience in preparation of interest rate risk measurements, financial forecasts and budgets, cash management, wholesale funding and reporting for the Board of Directors.
Ms. Pittman received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas – Arlington . She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Executive Vice President
Mr. Sperring serves as an Executive Vice President of Triumph Bancorp, Inc. and as an Executive Vice President for TBK Bank, SSB. He serves as a director of Triumph Insurance Group as well as Chief Investment Officer of Triumph CRA Holdings, Inc.
Prior to joining Triumph, he served as partner and Chief Investment Officer of TriVest Residential LLC, a real estate investment firm, for 10 years. While at TriVest, he was directly responsible for more than $850 million in capital transactions. Prior to TriVest, he worked in the development and asset management groups at the Archon Group, a real estate investment subsidiary of Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Sperring received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Management Information Systems from Baylor University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He and his wife, Miriam, have four children and reside in Richardson, Texas.
CEO, Triumph Community Bank Division
Mr. DeDoncker serves as CEO of TBK Bank’s Triumph Community Bank division, which operates 18 branches in the states of Illinois and Iowa. He has held this position since 2013. He previously served as CEO and President of THE National Bank prior to its acquisition by Triumph and merger into TBK Bank, SSB. Mr. DeDoncker served as President and Chief Operating Office of THE National Bank from its formation in 2001 through 2005 and as CEO and President from 2005 until 2013. During Mr. DeDoncker’s years leading THE National Bank it grew from a $90 million bank with three branches to a bank with over $1 billion in assets and 18-locations. From 1988 through 2000, Mr. DeDoncker worked for the Quad-Cities law firm, Lane & Waterman, as an associate attorney from 1988 through 1993 and as a partner from 1994 through 2000. His practice was primarily concentrated on representing corporations, including banks and bank holding companies.
Mr. DeDoncker currently serves on the Board of Directors of TBK Bank and on the Executive Loan Committee, Asset and Liability Committee, Trust Committee and Special Assets Committee. Outside of the bank, he serves on the Quad Cities Chamber Board’s Executive Committee and as Treasurer, in addition to various other non-profit board positions. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Iowa in 1985 and his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1988.
President, TBK Bank Western Division
Mr. Reyher serves as President of the Western Division of TBK Bank, SSB. He joined TBK Bank as a result of the merger of Colorado East Bank and Trust and TBK Bank, SSB in August of 2016. Prior to joining TBK Bank, Mr. Reyher served as the President of Colorado East Bank and Trust and brings nearly 35 years of banking experience, 30 of which is in the commercial banking field. He has served in all aspects of commercial and agricultural lending and prior to joining Colorado East Bank and Trust in August of 2000, he served as the Sr. Vice President of Lending for First National Bank in Lamar, Colo.
Mr. Reyher has served as an instructor in various continuing educational programs for lenders. He currently serves as President Elect for the Independent Bankers of Colorado, and will fill the role of President of that organization in 2017-2018. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colo., and attended the Graduate Schools of Banking at Colorado University, graduating in 1995.
He and his wife, Diane, currently reside in Buena Vista, Colo., and have two adult children.
